Neighborhood Villages Statement on Senate Child Care Legislation

BOSTON, MA (March 7, 2024) - Neighborhood Villages – a Boston-based nonprofit that advocates for solutions to the greatest challenges faced by the early education sector – applauded the Massachusetts Senate today for introducing a comprehensive early education and care reform bill which will be taken up next week.

Lauren Kennedy, co-president of Neighborhood Villages, issued the following statement:

“We are grateful to Senate President Spilka, Senate Ways and Means Chair Rodrigues, Senator Jason Lewis, and the Senate today for taking important steps to stabilize and reform the early education and care system in Massachusetts. Thanks to actions taken by the Legislature over the past few years, we are improving the lives of people who live and work in Massachusetts. We are excited to continue our work with Senate and House leaders to make these important investments in our early education and care system to support our children, families, and economic future of our Commonwealth.”
