Neighborhood Villages Applauds Massachusetts Senate for Passing Comprehensive Early Education Bill

BOSTON, MA (March 14, 2024) - Neighborhood Villages – a Boston-based nonprofit that advocates for solutions to the greatest challenges faced by the early education sector – today applauded the Massachusetts Senate today for passing a comprehensive early education and care reform bill.

Lauren Kennedy, co-president of Neighborhood Villages, issued the following statement:

“Today, the Massachusetts Senate passed a bill that set us on a path to transforming our child care system — a path toward closing educational achievement gaps, toward child care affordability and equity, and toward sustainable careers for early educators. We are excited to see this momentum in Massachusetts to build a brighter future for all.

We thank Senate President Karen Spilka, Senate Ways and Means Chair Michael Rodrigues, Joint Committee on Education Chair Jason Lewis, and the Senate for their ongoing commitment to early education and care reform and we look forward to continuing our work with Senate and House leaders to pass these important reforms  into law. Together, we can make the change that families and children in the Commonwealth need and deserve.”
