Neighborhood Villages’ 2024 Winter Wonder Fest Brings Holiday Joy to Boston Families

BOSTON, MA (December 19, 2024) - Neighborhood Villages hosted their 3rd annual Winter Wonder Fest, a family-friendly community event open to all children, families, and educators to celebrate the holiday season and receive essential goods.

Amidst a festive atmosphere of giant nutcrackers and snowmen, nearly 600 guests were treated to hot cocoa and treats, live performances, storytelling, festive crafts, dance parties, face painting, and a holiday photo booth. Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, and Boston City Councilor Brian Worrell made surprise appearances and helped to distribute thousands of essential goods such as diapers, children’s books, holiday gifts, personal hygiene products, winter hats and gloves, and more.

“This year’s Winter Wonder Fest was our best yet, bringing together families, children, and educators for a joyful celebration,” said Sarah Muncey, co-founder of Neighborhood Villages. “We’re incredibly thankful to our partners and community for making this event possible and ensuring that families have access to essential goods and holiday cheer.”

Sponsors and partners included MFS Investment Management, State Street, Insource, Plymouth Rock Assurance, Citizens Energy, the Patriot’s Foundation, Goulston & Storrs, Baby2Baby, Red Sox Foundation, and Rafanelli Events.

"It was so great to be in community at the Neighborhood Villages Winter Wonder Fest in Dorchester. Thank you to Epiphany School Principal Sanchez for hosting and to the Neighborhood Villages team for their partnership in building a more equitable early education system in Boston and beyond,” said Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, MA-07.

Throughout the year, Neighborhood Villages partners with early childhood education programs serving vulnerable children and families to help them access the health services, wraparound supports, and material goods they need to thrive.

Earlier this month, Neighborhood Villages and Baby2Baby partnered to distribute over 240,000 diapers to community partners including Emergency Assistance Shelters and other organizations that support families and young children
